jim's lecture

Jim Graham gave a talk to the incoming students for
the University of Washington Architecture Program. He
along with 4 other firm principals openly described the
process of architecture and the ups and downs that come
along with every pivotal project. Really good stuff

wanna stay in seattle for less?

American Hotel is GBA's latest project and first hostel. Located in
the International District, the 328 bed hostel reuses an existing
womens' shelter that had relocated to a new building. Seattle was
sad to see the previous Hosteling International building by the
market close but this new project is in close proximity to King
Street Station and the new Airport Light Rail. This building in sure
to see a lot of eyes from all over the world. Welcome to Seatte!

In the parlance of our time… HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETT!

The office celebrated Brett ‘The Dude’ Baba’s birthday on Friday, October 9. The party started with a bright orange jumpsuit, pizza and beers at an exclusive midday office showing of The Big Lobowski. Brett enjoyed a single-serve White Russian, we all agreed that Donnie was out of his element and that the Cohen brothers are geniuses! We shut the doors at 5 and headed down to Columbia City for some bowling, where Jacob’s mastery of the alley was clear. Strikes and gutter balls rolled, and it was promised that we should go more often because bowling is just ridiculously fun… Am I wrong? Am I wrong? No, I am not wrong! We hope you are having a great fall. Keep rolling!

GORILLA LUNCH

The office organized for a quick lunch at skillet while it was parked in our neck of the woods for the day. The traveling trailer of goodness makes its way to capitol hill every monday.

We pulled up our OWN trailer with picnic table and chair in hand and popped a squat right in the parking lot.

Tour of project in West Seattle

We stopped off at Bakery Neuvo and then headed for Alki for a picnic.

Janice Veikman was generous enough to give us a peak of her wonderful house in West Seattle.
